1 stick butter melted and cooled

1 cup chopped pecans

1/2 stick butter softened to room temperature for the cinnamon honey butter

2 tablespoons honey for the cinnamon honey butter

1 tablespoon cinnamon for the cinnamon honey butter

Instructions

1: In a large bowl, whisk together 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup dark brown sugar, 1 tablespoon cinnamon, 2 teaspoons baking powder, and 1 pinch salt to aerate the mixture.

2: In a separate bowl, whisk 1 stick melted and cooled butter, 1 1/2 cups buttermilk, 4 whole eggs, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract until smooth.

3: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until the batter is thick and smooth.

4: Gently fold in 1 cup chopped pecans using a rubber spatula.

5: Preheat the waffle iron according to its instructions.

6: Pour one-quarter of the batter into the hot iron, close it, and cook for 4 to 5 minutes until golden and puffy.

7: While the waffles cook, stir together 1/2 stick softened butter, 2 tablespoons honey, and 1 tablespoon cinnamon to make the cinnamon honey butter.
