๐Ÿ“ Experience the vibrant flavor of strawberries in a creamy buttercream that’s perfect for any dessert.
๐Ÿง This frosting is easy to make, holds its shape well and brings a pop of strawberry delight to your treats.

  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: Enough for 12 to 18 cupcakes or a modest 2-layer cake

Ingredients

– 1 cup (about 25g) freeze-dried strawberries adds concentrated natural strawberry flavor and vibrant color without moisture

– 1 cup (16 tablespoons; 226g) unsalted butter softened to room temperature forms the creamy base and structure of the frosting

– 3 ยฝ to 4 cups (420 to 500g) confectionersโ€™ (powdered) sugar provides sweetness and smooth consistency

– 2 to 4 tablespoons heavy cream or whole milk adjusts the frostingโ€™s texture and spreadability

– 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract enhances flavor complexity

– Pinch of salt balances sweetness and enriches overall flavor

Instructions

1-First Step: Prepare Strawberry Powder
Using a food processor or blender, grind freeze-dried strawberries into a fine powder (about ยฝ cup). For an extra smooth frosting free of seeds, sift the powder before use. Avoid using dried strawberries, which do not grind well and may affect texture.

2-Second Step: Beat the Butter
In a large bowl, beat softened unsalted butter on medium-high speed using a stand or hand mixer until creamy and fluffy, about 2 to 3 minutes.

3-Third Step: Combine Initial Ingredients
Add 1 cup of powdered sugar, the strawberry powder, vanilla extract, salt, and 2 tablespoons of heavy cream or milk. Beat on low speed for 30 seconds to incorporate ingredients gently.

4-Fourth Step: Add Remaining Sugar Gradually
Slowly add the remaining powdered sugar to the bowl while continuing to beat on low speed to prevent creating a sugar cloud. Once incorporated, increase speed to medium-high and beat for 2 minutes until the frosting is smooth and fluffy.

5-Final Step: Adjust Texture and Taste
If the frosting is too thick, add 1 to 2 more tablespoons of cream or milk to reach the desired spreadable consistency. Taste and adjust salt or cream to balance sweetness and texture. Use immediately for best results or store appropriately.
