1 tablespoon minced garlic

One 26-ounce jar of spaghetti sauce (a 32-ounce jar can be used if needed)

1 cup water

One 15-ounce container of small curd cottage cheese (ricotta can be substituted, but it may result in a drier texture)

1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese

1 large egg

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

8 to 10 uncooked regular lasagna noodles

0.5 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (for the topping)

0.33 cup grated parmesan cheese (for the topping)

Instructions

1-First, prepare all ingredients by chopping vegetables, mincing garlic, and measuring cheeses and sauces to ensure smooth assembly. Brown the ground beef in a skillet until fully cooked, then drain excess fat to keep the dish leaner. This step adds a nice base flavor and helps control the moisture in your lasagna.

2-Layer the slow cooker starting with a thin spread of marinara sauce on the bottom to prevent sticking. Add a layer of no-boil noodles, followed by ground beef, ricotta cheese, spinach, garlic, and mozzarella, repeating layers until all ingredients are used. Finish with a top layer of noodles with sauce and a generous sprinkling of shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheese, then cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours until noodles are tender and cheese is bubbly.

3-Allow the lasagna to rest for 10 minutes before serving to let it set up nicely.
