Ingredients
– 1 round Italian bread loaf
– 2 tablespoons melted butter (add 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt if using unsalted butter)
– 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
– 2 tablespoons butter
– 4 crushed garlic cloves
– 1/2 to 1 pound raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
– 2 tablespoons white wine (such as pinot grigio or sauvignon blanc)
– 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
– 1/2 teaspoon coarse sea salt
– 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
– 1 cup heavy cream
– 3/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese (freshly grated recommended)
– Fresh parsley and additional cheese for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1-First, gather all ingredients and prepare the shrimp by peeling and deveining; if desired, substitute proteins such as tofu for dietary needs.
2-Next, hollow out the bread by cutting off the top of the 1 round Italian bread loaf and removing the center, saving the pieces for later.
3-Then, preheat the broiler and line a baking sheet with foil or parchment for toasting.
4-Mix 2 tablespoons melted butter with 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder and 1/4 teaspoon onion powder, then brush it inside the bread bowl.
5-Broil for 3 to 4 minutes until crispy.
6-For the shrimp, melt 2 tablespoons butter in a skillet over medium heat and sauté 4 crushed garlic cloves until fragrant, about 1 minute.
7-Add the shrimp and cook until pink and curled, which takes just a couple of minutes.
8-Stir in 2 tablespoons white wine, 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning, 1/2 teaspoon coarse sea salt, 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, and 1 cup heavy cream; heat for 1 to 2 minutes.
9-Mix in 3/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese until the sauce thickens.
10-Spoon the mixture into the toasted bread bowl and garnish with fresh parsley if you like.
11-Serve right away with the reserved bread pieces.

🍤 Use large or jumbo shrimp for the best texture and presentation – they hold up better in the creamy sauce.
🥖 Experiment with different bread types like rye or sourdough for unique flavor combinations with the garlic shrimp.
🍷 Substitute white wine with low sodium seafood stock if avoiding alcohol, maintaining the depth of flavor in the sauce.
