๐Ÿฅฎ Ideal for entertaining, this sophisticated appetizer offers a balance of sweet and savory flavors with exquisite texture.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
1 triangle or wedge of brie cheese, cut into cubes (rind optional)
1 large egg
1 tablespoon (15 ml) milk
Coarse sugar, for sprinkling
Honey, for drizzling
Crushed pistachios, for topping
Pinch of salt (sea salt preferred)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 425ยฐF (220ยฐC) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Trim off as much of the brie rind as preferred, then cut the brie into cubes.
Place the brie cubes in the center of the thawed puff pastry sheet.
Fold each corner of the puff pastry inward to cover the brie fully.
Whisk together the egg and milk to prepare an egg wash, then brush it evenly over the puff pastry for a golden-brown finish.
Sprinkle coarse sugar on top of the pastry for added sweetness and texture.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden and crispy, and the cheese inside has melted.
Remove from the oven, immediately drizzle honey over the top, then sprinkle with crushed pistachios and a pinch of salt.
Serve warm while the cheese is gooey and melted.
