Ingredients

– 2 (8-ounce) packages of refrigerated crescent rolls

– 2 pounds of ground hamburger

– 2 finely chopped onions

– 4 cups of fresh chopped cabbage

– 1 pound of shredded mozzarella cheese

– Salt and pepper to taste

– Optional: undiluted canned cream soup for gravy-like texture

Instructions

1-Prep ingredients: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Finely chop 2 onions and 4 cups cabbage. Shred 1 pound mozzarella if needed.

2-Brown the meat: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook 2 pounds ground hamburger with onions until browned. Drain fat.

3-Steam cabbage: Add chopped cabbage to skillet. Cook until softened, stirring often. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir in optional undiluted cream soup for gravy texture.

4-Layer bottom crust: Grease a 9×13 baking dish. Unroll one 8-ounce package crescent rolls and press to cover bottom.

5-Add filling: Spread meat-cabbage mixture evenly over dough.

6-Top it off: Sprinkle all mozzarella cheese, then unroll second package crescent rolls over top, sealing edges.

7-Bake: Oven for 20-25 minutes until golden and bubbly. Cool 5-10 minutes before slicing.
