  • Total Time: 29 minutes
  • Yield: 12 donuts 1x

Ingredients

Scale

1 and 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 and 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

1/2 cup vegetable oil (or canola oil or melted coconut oil)

3/4 cup packed light or dark brown sugar

2 large eggs at room temperature

1 cup fresh or canned pumpkin puree

1/3 cup milk at room temperature (dairy or non-dairy)

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

3/4 cup packed light or dark brown sugar

1/4 cup milk (whole milk preferred)

1 tablespoon unsalted butter

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1 and 1/2 cups confectioners’ sugar

Pinch of salt to taste

Optional toppings: crushed walnuts or other nuts, toffee pieces, coconut, or sprinkles

Instructions

1-Preheat oven and grease pan: First, preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C) and lightly grease a donut pan. This prepares it for even cooking and easy release.

2-Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the dry ingredients to form a solid base for your pumpkin donuts.

3-Whisk wet ingredients: In another bowl, whisk the wet ingredients until smooth, making sure to adapt for any dietary swaps.

4-Combine and bake: Gradually mix the wet and dry components together, being careful not to over-stir for tender results. Fill the donut pan and bake for 15-18 minutes, then let them cool. Once done, add your icing for that extra touch.
