🍫 Enjoy a luscious, creamy frosting made from rich chocolate-hazelnut spread, perfect for cakes and cupcakes.
🍰 This easy recipe is quick to prepare and yields a smooth, airy texture that enhances any dessert instantly.

  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: Enough to frost 12-16 cupcakes or to cover a 9x13 inch sheet cake

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup (16 tablespoons; 226 grams) unsalted butter, room temperature

4 cups (460 grams) confectioners’ sugar

3/4 cup (225 grams) chocolate-hazelnut spread, stirred well if thick or clumpy

1/3 cup (80 milliliters) heavy cream or whole milk, dairy or nondairy

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

Instructions

1-First, ensure all ingredients are at room temperature for easier mixing. In a large bowl, beat the unsalted butter on medium speed with a handheld or stand mixer until it’s smooth, which takes about 2 minutes.

2-Next, add the confectioners’ sugar, chocolate-hazelnut spread, heavy cream or milk, and vanilla extract. Beat on low speed for 30 seconds, then switch to medium-high for 2 full minutes until everything blends well.

3-Adjust the consistency as needed by adding up to 1/2 cup more confectioners’ sugar if it’s too thin, or 1 tablespoon more cream if it’s too thick. Add a pinch of salt, about 1/8 teaspoon, if it tastes too sweet. Once done, use it right away or store it for later.

🧈 Start with room temperature butter; avoid butter that’s too warm to prevent greasy frosting.
🥄 Stir chocolate-hazelnut spread well before measuring to avoid clumps.
❄️ Store frosting properly and re-beat after thawing to maintain texture and spreadability.
