🍀 This Leprechaun Bait is a delightful mix of sweet and salty, perfect for engaging the little ones in holiday preparations.
🎉 Quick to make and fun to eat, it’s the ideal treat to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a colorful twist.

  • Total Time: 10 to 15 minutes
  • Yield: Approximately 8 cups

Ingredients

– 7 cups Rice Chex cereal

– 1 to 2 cups Lucky Charms cereal

– 1 cup crushed pretzels or 2 cups mini pretzels

– ¾ to 1 cup Lucky Charms marshmallows

– 1 cup green or dark chocolate mint candy-coated chocolates

– 10 to 11 ounces white chocolate chips or white almond bark

– 1 to 1½ teaspoons vegetable or coconut oil

Instructions

First Step: Prepare Your Ingredients Gather all your cereals, pretzels, marshmallows, and candy-coated chocolates in a large mixing bowl. If your Lucky Charms marshmallows are mixed with cereal, set aside about ¾ to 1 cup of marshmallows for the topping.

Second Step: Melt the White Chocolate Place the white chocolate chips or almond bark in a microwave-safe bowl. Add the optional 1 to 1½ teaspoons of vegetable or coconut oil to help the melting process. Microwave at 50% power in 30-second intervals, stirring frequently to prevent overheating or burning. Continue until the chocolate is completely smooth.

Third Step: Combine the Mixture Pour the melted white chocolate evenly over the cereal, pretzels, and candy mixture. Gently fold everything together with a spatula, coating all pieces without crushing the cereals. This slow mixing keeps the crunchy texture intact.

Fourth Step: Add Marshmallows and Final Mix Sprinkle the reserved Lucky Charms marshmallows on top and carefully fold them into the mix to distribute color and sweetness evenly.

Fifth Step: Set and Chill the Snack Spread the coated mixture onto a baking sheet lined with wax paper or parchment paper, flattening it evenly. Let it sit at room temperature for about 45 minutes until firm, or refrigerate for 10 to 20 minutes to speed up the setting process.

Final Step: Serve and Store Once fully set, break the Leprechaun Bait into bite-sized clusters. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. For longer preservation, freeze portions for up to two months, making sure the mix is completely cooled before storage to prevent sogginess.
