  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

– 4 cod fillets, skinless, about 1-inch thick

– 1 tablespoon flour

– 1/2 teaspoon paprika

– 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

– 1/4 teaspoon thyme

– 1/4 teaspoon oregano

– 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

– 3/4 teaspoon salt or to taste

– 3/4 teaspoon pepper

– 5 tablespoons butter, divided

– 1 tablespoon olive oil

– 1 tablespoon minced garlic

– 1 1/2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

– 1 1/2 tablespoons chicken broth

– 1 tablespoon chopped parsley

Instructions

1-First, rinse and pat dry the cod fillets to remove excess moisture, ensuring they cook evenly.

2-Second, season both sides of the cod with the flour mixture, including paprika, onion powder, thyme, oregano, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.

3-Third, heat 1 tablespoon butter and 1 tablespoon olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.

4-Fourth, add the cod fillets and cook for 3 to 4 minutes per side until golden brown and flaky; transfer to plates.

5-Fifth, reduce heat to medium-low and melt the remaining 4 tablespoons butter in the skillet.

6-Sixth, sauté the minced garlic for about 15 seconds until fragrant, then stir in the chicken broth and fresh lemon juice.

7-Seventh, pour the sauce over the cod and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
