Ingredients
– 30 oz shredded refrigerated or frozen hash browns (if using frozen, increase cooking time)
– 1 cup mayonnaise
– 1 cup sour cream
– 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
– 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1/2 teaspoon pepper
– 1/2 cup chopped green onions
– 1 package smoked sausage (already cooked and sliced thin)
– 4 oz shredded pepper jack cheese (or any good melting cheese as a substitute)
Instructions
1-Mix all ingredients except the cheese together in a large bowl for even distribution.
2-Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch casserole dish to prepare for baking.
3-Top with the cheese to create a golden, bubbly layer.
4-Bake covered at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes; if using frozen hash browns, increase to 45 minutes.
5-Uncover and bake for an additional 10 minutes to let flavors meld.
6-Broil on low for 5 minutes until the cheese is brown and bubbly for a perfect finish.
7-Optionally, brown the smoked sausage in a skillet before mixing for added flavor depth.
