Ingredients

1 lb (450 g) lean ground beef (93/7)
1 bottle (12 oz / 340 g) chili sauce
1 can (8 oz / 225 g) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 pouch (1 oz / 28 g) chili seasoning mix (or homemade blend)
½ cup (120 ml) water
2 tablespoons buffalo wing sauce
2 tablespoons yellow mustard
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon onion powder
8 beef hot dogs or smoked sausages
8 hot dog buns
Shredded sharp cheddar cheese or shredded Colby/Monterey Jack cheese
Chopped white onion for topping

Instructions

1. In a large skillet, optionally heat oil and sauté onion and garlic until softened, about 3 minutes.
2. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking into small pieces. Drain fat if necessary.
3. Stir in chili sauce, kidney beans, chili seasoning, water, buffalo wing sauce, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, onion powder, and optional tomato paste.
4. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer uncovered for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add water if needed.
5. Cook hot dogs by grilling, boiling, or preferred method.
6. Place each hot dog in a bun, spoon over chili, then top with cheese and onions. Optionally bake to melt cheese.
