Ingredients

– 3/4 cup unsalted sweet cream butter, softened

– 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar

– 1/2 cup molasses

– 1 large egg

– 3 cups flour

– 2 teaspoons ground ginger

– 1 teaspoon cinnamon

– 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

– 1/2 teaspoon allspice

– 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

– 1 teaspoon baking soda

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– 1 container white sanding sugar (about 1/2 cup)

– 1 bag chocolate striped kisses

Instructions

1-Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

2-In a large bowl, combine 3 cups flour, 2 teaspoons ground ginger, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg, 1/2 teaspoon allspice, 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt, and 1 teaspoon baking soda.

3-In a separate bowl or using a stand mixer, beat together 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar and 3/4 cup unsalted sweet cream butter until light and fluffy.

4-Mix in 1/2 cup molasses, 1 large egg, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract to the sugar and butter mixture.

5-Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients until a dough forms.

6-Pour the white sanding sugar into a bowl.

7-Form small balls of dough, then roll them in the sanding sugar.

8-Place the dough balls on the prepared baking sheets and bake for 8 to 10 minutes.

9-Remove from the oven and let cool for 2 to 3 minutes before pressing a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie.

10-Allow the cookies to cool completely before serving.
