Instructions

1-Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

2-Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt.

3-Cream butter and sugars: In a separate bowl, beat the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.

4-Add eggs and vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

5-Combine wet and dry mixtures: Gradually blend in the dry ingredients with the wet mixture.

6-Stir in chips: Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts if desired.

7-Drop by spoonfuls: Drop large spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.

8-Bake cookies: Bake for about 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are nicely browned.

9-Cool cookies: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
