– 1 lb (about 450 grams) of ground meat (beef, turkey, or chicken)
– 32 ounces (approximately 946 ml) of marinara sauce
– 32 ounces (about 907 grams) of cottage cheese
– 2 eggs
– 1 ½ tablespoons of Italian seasoning
– 2 teaspoons of garlic powder
– ½ teaspoon of salt
– 2 cups (about 200 grams) of shredded mozzarella cheese (divided)
– ¾ cup (approximately 75 grams) of grated Parmesan cheese (divided)
– 9 regular lasagna noodles
Instructions
1-First, preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and position the rack in the middle for even heating.
2-Blend the cottage cheese until smooth to avoid any separation and create a creamy texture.
3-Brown the 1 lb of ground meat in a skillet for 8 to 10 minutes, drain the grease, then add the 32 ounces of marinara sauce and let it simmer.
4-In a bowl, whisk together the 2 eggs, 1 ½ tablespoons of Italian seasoning, 2 teaspoons of garlic powder, and ½ teaspoon of salt. Mix in the blended cottage cheese, 1 cup of shredded mozzarella, and ½ cup of grated Parmesan cheese.
5-In a 9×13-inch baking dish, spread ¾ cup of the meat sauce on the bottom. Layer 3 noodles, then 1 ½ cups of the cheese mixture, and ¼ cup of the meat sauce. Repeat the process with noodles, cheese mixture, and meat sauce.
6-Finish with a final layer of meat sauce and top with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. Cover with foil and bake for 55 minutes, then remove the foil for the last 10 minutes to brown the top.
7-Let the lasagna rest for 5 minutes before serving to help the layers set.
