Instructions

1-First, preheat your oven to 350Β°F and get your 9-inch pie shell ready in the pan.

2-Melt 3 tablespoons of the unsalted butter with the 1 ounce of unsweetened baking chocolate in a double boiler until it’s smooth and glossy.

3-In another saucepan, simmer the remaining 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter with the 1/2 cup light corn syrup, 1/2 cup dark corn syrup, and 3/4 cup granulated sugar until everything blends together nicely.

4-Add this warm mixture to the melted chocolate, then stir in the 3 beaten eggs and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract until fully combined.

5-Spread the 1 cup chopped pecans evenly into the pie shell, pour the filling over them, and smooth the top for an even bake.

6-Cover the crust edges with foil to keep them from browning too much, then bake for 45 to 50 minutes. The filling should be slightly jiggly and spring back when tapped.

7-Let the pie cool completely on a rack before slicing, and add whipped cream if you like for an extra touch.
