  • Total Time: 3 hours
  • Yield: 12-15 donuts 1x

Ingredients

Scale

3 ΒΌ cups all-purpose flour

ΒΌ cup granulated sugar

2 ΒΌ teaspoons active dried yeast

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup plus 1 tablespoon whole milk

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

1-Gathering and Mixing Ingredients: First, mix the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a standing mixer with a dough hook, keeping yeast and salt separate at first. Heat the milk and butter until the butter melts, then stir in the vanilla extract and add this mixture slowly on low speed to form the dough.

2-Rising and Shaping the Dough: Increase to medium speed and mix for 6-8 minutes until the dough is shiny, smooth, and saggy. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it tightly, and let it rise until doubled in size, about 2 hours. Roll the dough on a floured surface to Β½-inch thickness and cut out 3-inch donut shapes.

3-Frying and Glazing: Let the shaped donuts rise again for 20-30 minutes, then heat 2-3 inches of vegetable oil to 350Β°F. Fry 3-4 donuts at a time for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown, drain on paper towels, and dip in chocolate glaze while warm.
