🍪 Discover the joy of making soft, gooey chocolate chip cookies that melt in your mouth.
🍪 Perfect for satisfying sweet cravings with its classic and timeless flavor.

  • Total Time: 51 minutes
  • Yield: 12 cookies 1x

Ingredients

Scale

8 tablespoons (1 stick) salted butter

1/2 cup white sugar (raw cane sugar preferred for better texture)

1/4 cup packed light brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 large egg

1 1/2 cups (6.75 ounces) all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt (add extra if using unsalted butter)

3/4 cup chocolate chips (a mix of chips and chunks recommended)

Instructions

1-Preheat your oven: to 350°F (175°C). Melt the butter in the microwave for about 40 seconds until mostly liquid but not hot.

2-Mix butter and sugars: In a large mixing bowl, beat the melted butter with white sugar and brown sugar until creamy.

3-Add vanilla and egg: Stir in the vanilla extract and a lightly beaten egg, mixing briefly on low speed until just combined.

4-Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.

5-Form the dough: Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until the mixture becomes crumbly. Press the crumbs together with your hands to form a dough.

6-Fold in chocolate chips: Mix in the chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.

7-Shape cookies: Form 12 large balls of dough (or 9 for bigger cookies) and place them about 2 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet.

8-Bake: Bake for 9 to 11 minutes until cookies appear puffy, dry on top, and slightly golden but not browned. Avoid overbaking to keep cookies soft inside.

9-Cool: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for about 30 minutes to set into a dense, soft texture before transferring.

🔄 Use melted butter to simplify mixing without worrying about temperature.
🥚 Beat the egg lightly to avoid making the dough stiff.
➕ Adjust flour gradually if dough is too wet or sticky by adding a tablespoon at a time.
