Instructions
1-Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C) and prepare an 8×8 inch baking pan by greasing it or lining with parchment paper.
2-Crush or press the 18 ounces of refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough into the bottom of the pan to form a solid base.
3-In a bowl, beat the 8 ounces of softened cream cheese until smooth, then gradually mix in the 1/2 cup of granulated sugar until combined.
4-Next, add the 1 egg at room temperature and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract, beating well to create a creamy mixture.
5-Pour this over the cookie dough base and spread it evenly. Bake for 40-45 minutes until the edges set but the center still jiggles a bit.
6-Let the bars cool in the oven with the heat off for about an hour to avoid cracking, then chill in the fridge for at least 4 hours.
