2 large eggs, at room temperature for binding and taste enhancement

1 tablespoon vanilla extract for binding and taste enhancement

2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided (360g) for gooey, chocolatey bites

Instructions

1- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt, then set it aside.

2- In a large bowl, combine the melted butter with the brown and granulated sugars; whisk for about 30 seconds until the mixture thickens slightly.

3- Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter and sugar mixture; whisk well for about 1 minute.

4- Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and stir with a spatula until nearly combined small streaks of dry flour are acceptable.

5- Reserve approximately ΒΌ cup of chocolate chips; fold the remaining chocolate chips into the dough.

6- Spread the dough evenly into the prepared pan, maintaining some texture on top, and sprinkle the reserved chocolate chips evenly over the surface.

7- Bake for about 55 minutes, or until the edges turn golden brown and a toothpick inserted near the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

8- Allow the bars to cool in the pan for about an hour before lifting out using the parchment paper and cutting into bars.
