1/4 cup (60 g) sour cream
1/4 cup (60 g) mayonnaise
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice, plus more to taste
1 1/2 teaspoons lemon zest (optional)
2 tablespoons capers, drained (optional)
4 to 6 ounces (115 to 170 g) smoked salmon, roughly chopped
2 to 3 tablespoons fresh chopped dill
2 tablespoons fresh chopped chives
1/2 garlic clove, minced (optional)
1 to 2 tablespoons finely diced red onion or scallions (optional)
1/4 teaspoon Tabasco or hot sauce (optional)
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Bagel chips, crackers, breadsticks, melba toasts, or mini crostinis, for serving

Instructions

1. In a food processor, combine cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, lemon juice, lemon zest, capers, Tabasco, and garlic until smooth.
2. Add smoked salmon, dill, chives, and red onion. Pulse gently to incorporate, leaving visible salmon pieces.
3. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt, pepper, and additional lemon juice.
4. Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with extra dill or lemon slices if desired.
