Ingredients
2 pizza dough crusts (store-bought or fresh)
3 tablespoons oil or butter (for greasing)
1 1/2 cups pizza sauce
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 1/2 teaspoons Italian seasoning, divided
1 pound (about 450 grams) ground Italian sausage, browned
1 cup (about 70 grams) mushrooms, thinly sliced
10 slices pepperoni, chopped
Fresh basil leaves (for garnish)
Fresh spinach (optional)
Fresh mozzarella slices (optional)
1 pound (about 450 grams) sliced mozzarella cheese
Additional pizza toppings as desired
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
2. Grease four large (5-inch) ramekins or small cake pans thoroughly with oil or butter, including the rims and extending at least 1 inch down the outside.
3. Divide the dough into four equal portions and roll each into a 6-inch circle.
4. Line the inside of each ramekin with slices of mozzarella cheese.
5. Add browned Italian sausage, sliced mushrooms, chopped pepperoni, fresh spinach, and other preferred toppings.
6. Mix the pizza sauce with minced garlic and 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning, then pour it evenly over the filling in each ramekin.
7. Cover each filled ramekin with pizza dough, stretching the dough to seal the edges securely.
8. Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes until the crust turns golden brown.
9. Remove from the oven and immediately invert the pot pies onto plates.
10. Garnish with the remaining 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning and fresh basil leaves before serving.
