Ingredients
6 hot dog buns
6 hot dogs
3 cups shredded cheese mix (Monterey Jack and cheddar)
6 tablespoons soft butter
Optional seasonings: garlic powder, smoked paprika, or cayenne
Optional additions: pickles or pickled jalapeños
Dipping sauces: ketchup, mustard, honey mustard, or spicy aioli
Instructions
1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
2. Roll each hot dog bun flat with a rolling pin and spread 1 tablespoon of butter on the outside of each bun.
3. Sprinkle about 1/3 cup of shredded cheese onto the center of each rolled bun.
4. Slice each hot dog lengthwise and place it in the bun over the cheese.
5. Add extra cheese, optional pickles, or jalapeños on top of the hot dogs.
6. Fold the buns closed and gently press down.
7. Place the assembled hot dogs in the air fryer basket, leaving space between each one.
8. Air fry for 5 to 7 minutes until the cheese is melted and the buns are golden brown.
9. Serve immediately with your choice of dipping sauces.
