Ingredients
6 hot dog buns (top sliced or brioche buns recommended)
6 skinless hot dogs
3 cups shredded cheese mix (Monterey Jack and cheddar)
6 tablespoons soft butter
Optional: 1 tablespoon garlic powder, smoked paprika, or cayenne
Optional: pickles or pickled jalapeños
Dipping sauces: ketchup, mustard, honey mustard, or spicy aioli
Instructions
1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F.
2. Flatten each hot dog bun with a rolling pin and spread butter on the outside.
3. Place the buns butter-side down in the air fryer basket and sprinkle shredded cheese beside each bun.
4. Slice each hot dog lengthwise or score diagonally, then place in the air fryer and cook for 4 minutes.
5. Add cooked hot dogs to buns, top with more cheese and optional extras, secure the bun.
6. Return to air fryer and cook until cheese is crispy, about 3-4 minutes.
7. Serve immediately with your choice of dipping sauces.
